During the past two decades, Rice Lake has shown substantial progress in the following areas, with some highlights shown below:
Two new schools, significant updating of two other schools and state-of-the-art outdoor athletic facilities, together with a $20 million referendum to improve elementary, middle, and high schools.
A new hospital (2011) and several supporting clinics with expansions exceeding $100 million.
Expansions of the local university and technical college campuses, and new student housing facilities
Regional retail service center serving an area of 80-100,000 people
Substantial expansion of existing industries, new diversified industrial companies, and two (2) industrial parks.
